About program
#ICICIAppathon is a virtual mobile
app development challenge for Banking and Financial Services with Over 50 APIs
from ICICI Bank and its group companies namely ICICI Prudential Life Insurance,
ICICI Lombard General Insurance and ICICI Securities are available. Third party
payment APIs is provided by Visa and many more API’s are available, the entire
API and development environment is hosted on the IBM Bluemix cloud based platform.
Participation criteria and team size
#ICICIAppathon is open for all
Developers, tech companies, startups and students to create the next generation
solution for Banking and Financial Services. The contest is open for those who
worked with ICICI Bank on the same thing in the past.
A team can be formed with minimum 5 participants
for the contest. All the members have to use at least 1 of the APIs of ICICI
Bank or any of the API given by any partner of #ICICIAppathon.

Vision
In single line the vision of #ICICIAppathon is to develop
innovative working prototypes of mobile app’s to provide a solution for all
kind of Banking and Financial Services to End user using available API’s.
Process
To be a part of #ICICIAppathon Participants have to
register them self by providing a synopsis of the idea and choose APIs which
will be used for creating the solution across categories available on http://www.iciciappathon.com/.
Shortlisted participants will be given access to all APIs on the
IBM Bluemix platform
where they have to create a minimum viable solution and submit a video
demonstration of API usage and business benefits of the App.
Finalists will be invited to ICICI Bank Towers, BKC, Mumbai to
showcase their minimum viable solution to eminent Jury.
Selection
Selection criteria will be based on the following points.
- Uniqueness of the solution
- Functionality of the minimum viable solution
- Business potential
- End user experience.
- Scalability of the minimum viable solution.
The top three winners of #ICICIAppathon will win prizes from
a pool of over Rs. 20 lakhs along with a chance to work with ICICI Bank. The
winners of the appathon will also get a fast tracked entry into Nasscom's 10,000 Startups program. Two members of the
winning team shall also have access to the network and co-working community of
91springboard (a co-working community of freelancers, startups and established
small to large businesses) across India, and many more.
